Somerset town surges in property interest amid Sarah Beeny TV show

Bruton has shot to the top of Rightmove’s top property hotspots in the UK this year and it is largely due to Sarah Beeny.

The Somerset town saw the biggest increase in prospective buyer searches this year with searches surging by 72 per cent.

Rightmove has linked this increase to Sarah’s new property show,  A New Life in the Country.

A spokesman said: “The picturesque countryside community is just outside where Sarah Beeny is building a home in Channel 4’s Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country.

“The biggest trend we’ve uncovered in 2020 is that coastal and rural areas have become more popular than ever before, with demand for such locations significantly on the rise.”

Fans of Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country have become acquainted with the outskirts of Bruton over the past two months as the series has aired on Channel 4.

After selling her London home, which was advertised at the whopping price tag of £3.5million, Sarah bought a 220 acre dilapidated dairy farm near Bruton.

The show tracks the real estate broadcaster and her husband Graham Swift along with their four boys as they build the house of their dreams in the middle of a field on the farm.

The Rightmove research compares buyer searches from 2019 with those in this year, running up until December 14.
