SUMMARY:Hadestown (Teen Edition)
DESCRIPTION:Zenith Youth Theatre Company presents Hadestown\, the Tony Award-winning musical by Anaïs Mitchell. \nHadestown is a bold and electrifying musical that retells the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice through a powerful blend of folk\, jazz and modern musical theatre. \nIn a world divided between the cold underground industry of Hadestown and the fragile beauty of the world above\, two young lovers fight to hold onto hope. When Eurydice is drawn into the underworld by the promises of King Hades\, Orpheus must journey into the depths to bring her home.  Guided by Hermes and surrounded by the voices of a powerful chorus\, Orpheus challenges the rules of the underworld with nothing but a song. \nThis production places the ensemble at the heart of the storytelling\, drawing on the traditions of the Greek chorus to create a vivid and immersive theatrical world. \nPerformed by a talented cast of young performers and accompanied by a live band\, Zenith Youth Theatre Company presents a visually striking new production.. With its haunting score\, dynamic ensemble storytelling and timeless themes of love\, hope and resistance\, Hadestown is a theatrical experience that speaks directly to the world we live in today.
