One more person has died from coronavirus and the number of people in hospital with Covid-19 has jumped in the past day, Government figures reveal.
The death was recorded in Bath and North East Somerset in the 24 hours to 4pm on Sunday, and is the 47th person to in that area to die 28 days after a positive coronavirus test.
There were no other deaths recorded in North Somerset or Somerset county in the past 24 hours, but cases have continued to increase, with another 215 people testing positive across the traditional county.
Across the South West region, another 105 patients were admitted to hospital with coronavirus in just one day, bringing the total number of Covid-19 patients in hospital in the region currently to 582. Of those, the Department of Health said 51 were on ventilation.
Nationally, a total of 156 people’s deaths were recorded by the Department of Health in the 24 hours to 4pm on Sunday, November 8.
Those were people who died within 28 days of having a positive test for Covid-19 across the UK.
The number of people testing positive on Sunday were recorded as 20,572.
Both the figures for deaths and new cases were down on yesterday, principally because reporting of new cases and deaths always drops at the weekend.
